This post was necessary! As a bisexual woman, I’m exhausted of all the hate we receive from both straight people and the queer community. I’m not lesbian when I’m with a woman, I’m not straight when I’m with a men, or pansexual with “other” genders. I’m bisexual, and I want to be respected as such. The queer community discourse is all about love and acceptance and inclusion, but queer people are the first at being hateful towards their own community 😕
I'm 58 and I remember being in law school in the 90's. The queer student group was called the lesbian and gay student association. I asked if bisexuals were welcome, and because they didn't have an official policy, the members voted. They voted no. So grateful things have changed, at least in many spheres. Thanks for a wonderful post!
